Created in 1980, Muracef Company (Mutual of Insurance Risks of Caisses d’Epargne of France) is one insurance mutual, Branch of Caisse d’Epargne Group, specialised in the risks covering of group businesses (Caisse d’Epargne, branches and common organisms, computing communities) and its banking products. So, the company covers for this last one, the heavy risks and Para banking (payment facilities guarantee) of its customers.In 1997, Muracef created a branch named Union Européenne d’Assurances (UEA), which dedication is to insure banks outside from Caisse d’Epargne. Muracef practises in this way all Non-Life Risks (except car) inhere in credit institutions. |

Since 1995, Muracef begins a reflection as regards information system, which has to become a strategic arm at the development service. Immediately the organisation manager of information system, Jean-Michel Gombert deviates a system issued of internal developments. Then the sole choice stays opened between a total facilities management system and a business software package. The solution has to allow, notably, to administrate more easily and uniformly contracts, to insert new products quickly and integrate to existing system.

Within this industrialization environment of information system, the software package solution will be finally retained for its offer maturity and adequacy to Muracef needs. At the end of a recipients market study widened to European stage, Mutual speaks out of ITN V9 Assurances system, in same time its functional fullness and for its detailed knowledge of market that editor has.

| Which was the main expectation of project implementation? |

| Contrary to our old system, which imposed us maintenance times more and more unacceptable, the ITN software offers us new horizons: not only it is oriented client and in same time adapted to mass management of insurances programs. Better, it allows to bring back creation period of a product from 200 to few days. |

| In the tool choice moment, Muracef starts wide integration workings, as objective of a quick implementation and less costly of V9 Assurances on the activity scope: production, claims, accountancy. With the CNETI (Centre National d’Etudes et de Traitements Informatiques) and ITN, V9 Assurances adapts to the existing Caisse d’Epargne computing in order to integrate financial flood of these businesses. Afterwards others projects come in addition, meeting to Muracef needs: in 2002 a web solution for claims management by phone and in 2003 this same technology is used for production part. |

Dual revolution |

Muracef dispose henceforth of an exploitation system hosting the whole of its contracts. Its putting into exploitation is the origin of this double organizational revolution. On the other hand, the administrators can fully consecrate themselves to the activities conduct, became more accurate. Information is managed in real-time: premiums are also analysed to a detail level never reached. In addition, in their work environment dedicated to banking products management, the Caisses participating to this operation can henceforth process underwriting online of insurances contracts and effect elemental production acts of mass.In order to ease ratemaking operations, an expert integrated system in V9 assists administrators in their underwriting activities.
This tool, Prexis, is one of both major innovations of new system in particular thanks to its portability multiplatform. Moreover, its autonomy compared to software package allows a ratemaking completely secured. Finally Muracef does not deplore any bug since its introduction. The ideal integration of V9 and Prexis within existing system, as well as numerous interfaces allowing flood exchanges in real-time from a module to another one procure a high reactivity to Muracef offer. This is an competitive advantage decisive when it deals with the management of more 850 000 insurances contracts and 7 millions of customers.

Thanks to ITN V9 Assurances, products have been developed sevenfold faster. Thus, 50 products have been created in four years, against seven products only before. Results in phase with initial ambition exploiting the Information System as motor of a strategy oriented to conquest of new markets. |

The objective integration of our application in the bank insurer information system was a real challenge for ITN.
Implementation of a system fully integrated and in real-time allows a better preservation of Para banking operations unit margin. The setting up of industrialized management for Muracef products generates savings in this kind of mass product.
Finally, the system reliability was placed at the core of our concerns to guaranty a maximum availability rate, major competitiveness issue for a bank insurer.
